The company has a sales-driven culture and one of their core beliefs centers on continuous improvement. The automotive insurance industry relies on external organizations to sell damaged and destroyed vehicles and parts on the open market. This important function allows insurance companies to recover a portion of the funds they pay out for claims. Using cutting-edge technologies, Info et Cetera developed a streamlined and automated online system to allow The Salvage Center to switch away from a time-consuming paper-based process.

Custom e-Commerce site with complex product configuration

Info et Cetera Consulting worked with a traditional brick-and-mortar sign retailer to develop a business plan for selling custom signs online. One of the core aspects of the personal sales process that EZ Signs wanted to maintain was the professional advantage of having a graphic designer lay out the sign.

Info et Cetera developed an online application to allow customers to dynamically create and order a custom outdoor sign, while still maintaining the advantage of having a graphic artist create the final design. The online sales process walks customers, step-by-step, through the an adaptive ordering process that captures all of the information the designer needs to create the layout.

For the shopping cart system and eCommerce backbone, we leveraged .netCART — a programmable shopping cart framework, saving the customer time and allowing us to focus on the business logic of the system.

This system replaced a paper-based ordering form, allowing the customer to begin selling online and realize a higher level of profit and market penetration.

Windows Small Business Server Implementation

In June 2007, Microsoft chose Info et Cetera as a winner in their “Growing Small Business Together” contest and commissioned the creation of this case study.

Passports provides educational travel tours for high school and college students, their teachers and professors, and adults. The people behind Passports have been responsible, directly or indirectly, for the successful overseas travel of hundreds of thousands of American high school students since the mid-nineteen-sixties. The fundamental premise has remained unchanged over all these years: travel to foreign lands is an education in itself, making the world a safer place, and making people happier with their lives than they would have been otherwise.

Essentially, Passports, Inc. needed to upgrade their email system, improve their network security, access, and performance, and be able to monitor and control employee internet access and usage for their 50 PC environment.

Info et Cetera implemented a solution based on Windows Small Business Server to improve Passports’ electronic communications and overall IT infrastructure.
