Jon Bartelson resides in Grafton, Massachusetts and provides information technology consulting and administration services to small businesses throughout central Massachusetts. Jon began his consulting career in 1996, working with a team of other consultants for Network Technologies Group through the year 2000, and has since worked independently with a small base of clients.
Jon’s extensive education includes a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts (2001), a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts (2006), and a Juris Doctor (JD) from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts (2011).
In addition to independent consulting, Jon serves as Assistant Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. At WPI, Jon provides overall guidance and direction for university hosting services and IT service delivery, directs senior technical staff and facilitates collaboration to determine best practices for application and database hosting for critical information systems, ensures excellent customer service and operational support, and provides strategic technological direction to the university.
Jon is a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator and a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. In addition to his experience engineering and managing Microsoft Windows-based server and desktop environments, he has extensive experience with Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Systems Management Server, and many flavors of UNIX. He is proficient in C#, VB.NET and ASP.NET.
